    Description

1971 Altec Lansing Model 912A Stereo Receiver Turntable Cassette Music System. All-in-one system (Altec Lansing called them "component centers") in nice walnut enclosure with brushed/matte aluminum controls and illuminated dial. All controls present and generally functional. With original smoked grey cover, with no cracks, and some minor scratches and wear.
Good condition overall, basically functional but needs work:
The AM/FM tuner works, and both left and right speaker channels are working. Balance, bass, treble and loudness are all working, EXCEPT when the bass is turned up to a certain point the audio output modulates badly.
The Garrard turntable works intermittently on manual mode. Once you give it a nudge, it plays LPs at the correct speed. I assume the turntable needs a new belt. One channel of the turntable output isn't working. Since the AM/FM works on two channels, I assume it's not the amplifier, and the turntable needs a new cartridge (about ).
    The dial illumination is working.
I believe the two level meters at the right side of the machine are input levels, and I did not test these.
I did not test the cassette deck.
Part of the finish on the turntable is rusty. (top left corner photo 8)
The underside of the system shows some rust and corrosion. (See last photo.)
    Sold as-is.
This is a large, heavy item (around 55 pounds) which is reflected in shipping costs. Shipping is based on eBay estimate based on size and weight of item. Thanks for looking.
