Description
This is an authentic, fully functional “Analog Stereo Color Organ”. It takes the timbre (the continuous relative strengths of the components of different frequencies) from a sound amplifiers’ audio output and converts it to a continuous physical variable of hue, saturation and brightness (color). The colors are projected via six (6) vintage 150W 2000 hour quartz crystal/metal oxide Dichroic Glass spotlights. These vintage spotlights operate on a passive-reflective basis, reflecting unused wavelengths while passing through wanted portions of the spectrum.
These expensive Dichroic Glass spotlights are very high in transmission, producing a bright, clean, saturated color. In this case, a set of red (R), green (G) and blue (B) spotlights is used on each audio channel (left/right).
A complete explanation, setup and calibration guide is included (available separately, see below).
Included parts and pieces:
Two (2) Electronic Designers Inc. (Plainview, N.Y.) Model CR-101 Control Units (with cable).
Six (6) Incandescent 150W 2000 hour Dichroic Glass spotlights (4-GE, 2-Sylvania).
Six (6) Standard 5-foot electric extension cords (non polarized plug).
Six (6) Standard light bulb sockets.
Two (2) Crafted spotlight holders (optional use).
This somewhat rare and unique electronic instrument has been tested and is fully functional: However, being such, it must be sold AS IS, NO RETURNS.
