Heathkit AJ-43D AM/FM Stereo Tuner Fully Tested

This Heathkit AJ-43 is in great cosmetic condition and sounds fine. I've cleaned it up a bit had it in my system for months. AM with the bar antenna is noisy between the two or three stations it picks up. I use it often for a weak 1000 watt public radio FM station and it pulls that one in in stereo as well as my Pioneer Elite tuner, but I have to occasionally tweak the tuning knob to get a distortion free signal. Strong FM stations come in loud and clear and in stereo. The signal strength meter works properly.
The stereo indicator is NOT working but it's definitely playing in stereo. Some infrequently used switches hidden under the panel are still noisy.
I'm sure it's not working at original specifications as it's over 60 years old but if you want a super cool looking unit that does the job quite nicely this is it. Guaranteed not to arrive DOA. I've been selling here, and on Audiogon and Ebay (same name) for over twenty years and know how to pack and test equipment. I used to run service for Nakamichi.
