MARANTZ ST400 AM/FM STEREO TUNER ST-400

Description

Marantz ST-400 AM/FM Stereo Tuner acquired from the family of the original owner. This seldom seen tuner was made during the transistion between analog and digital read-out tuners. It has both, an anolog scale, and a digital read-out. The best of both worlds. Tested and working, using a thin wire for an indoor antenna I was able to pull in a good stereo signal for both local and some distant stations. Please notice that both the stereo indicator lamp, and the Servo Lock indicator lamp are illuminating at the same time in the photos. The center channel meter at center, and the signal strength meter to one side. It's very important that all these things happen at the same time where the tuner is synchronized and aligned properly. I took photos of this tuner with different stations tuned in so you can see it works as designed. The best way to use this particular model is to switch off(push button) the servo lock and after tuning in the desired station again push the servo lock button to on. It locks right on to the center of the channel. One can also leave the servo lock on all the time or off all the time. It will tune in frequencies and work either way. I just like being precise when I tune in a channel. Cosmetically excellent, this unit has RCA cables/plugs built in, so attach an antenna, an integrated amp, or pre-amp and power amplifier and it's turn-key operation from there.
