Mcintosh MR71

Description

I declined to have this unit reconditioned before sale because if it were me, I'd want to have that looked to myself, rather than take someones word for it. All functions tested working. Includes unit, power cord, and original wooden case.
The Mclntosh MR 71 is a precision engineered, highly sensitive FM Multiplex Tuner.
The research staff of Mclntosh Laboratory has developed five new tuner circuit improvements for the MR 71.
1. Automatic stereo-mono switching that is "clickless" and completely electronic. (Patent applied for.)
2. Multipath indicator to eliminate multipath reception by showing when your antenna is rotated to the correct position for minimum multipath distortion.
3. Double tuned input circuits before the first R.F. amplifier to reduce spurious re- sponses.
4. New D'Arsonval movement meters of increased sensitivity which do not need zero setting adjustments.
5. A new computer designed filter to reduce noise from stations broadcasting subcarrier auxiliary music services. No other tuner uses such a filter.

I posted a pic of the chassis showing chrome condition (it could use some Naval Jelly for that.) and the Tubes. I cannot tell if more than one of them is original as the wording has been worn away, except for the far left large tube, which does say Mcintosh. (I guess that's a good indication of age, anyway) I cannot seem to change or post more pics now that someone has bid on it. any questions, just ask.
