Onkyo T-4700
- Onkyo's FM/AM super tuner from 1990, and the successor to Onkyo's vaunted T-9090 II.  This is a rare high-end tuner from the days when FM was king.  This has all of the bells and whistles Onkyo could offer, such as APR, 40 station presets, wide and narrow filter selection, stereo blend, two antenna inputs and more.  Please see the below links for more info.

Please note, I updated the power supply capacitors in this tuner with Nichicon PW and Panasonic FC capacitors.  I also replaced the super cap that is used to hold the station presets in memory.  If it needs to be replaced 20-30 years from now it's easily accessible per one of the photos.   There are quite a few Nichicon Muse capacitors as originally installed, these are some of the best caps of the era and were rarely used due to the extra expense, a sign of commitment by Onkyo to the excellence of this tuner.
There is only one known defect, and that is purely cosmetic.  The upper top left-hand corner has paint loss, which was the result of a battery leak from a remote that was sitting on top.  Maybe the corner could be touched up and blended in, I didn't try.  I had the tuner in a rack where this was hidden from view.  Of course, it doesn't affect the performance in any way.  I wish it was visually pristine, but alas it is not, such are the slings and arrows time imposes on us.    Otherwise it is in excellent condition with a nice sharp display and lettering.
