    Description

Pilot T601 FM MONO tube tuner chassis, no cabinet.
    For parts, or restoration.
Please note, the tuner is a MONO tuner.
This is not a stereo tuner.
This is one of the tuners that came from a vintage audio hobbyist/collector, that is letting stuff go, due to a move.
See my other items for sale.
Looking it over, with just a brief inspection,
The tuning dial rotates and works fine throughout the scale.
The controls rotate properly, and power on/off works.
The bottom cover inside side has schematic of the tuner, see photo.
Please read all the details, before buying this unit...
This unit is being sold AS-IS, FOR  RESTORATION.
Due to the units age, this unit is NOT a plug and play item.
Due to age, old electrolytic capacitors dry out, go bad, cause power supply overload!
    Also, the tuner needs tubes.
There is only 1) 6AL5 tube in the tuner, the rest of the tubes are missing.
There's schematics online, that can tell you, the type of tubes, that belong in the tuner.
From what I can see, from online images, the first tube looks to be a 6BA6, and it looks like the rest are 3) tubes are 6AU6 tube types, but can't be 100% sure, so do your research to be sure.
Due to vintage electronic equipment, expect the need for power supply capacitors, as part of restoring the unit to reliable and best operating condition.
The tuner does power up, and there's high voltage DC from the power supply, but that don't mean the tuner will work properly. Old filter can capacitors do develope internal DC resistance, when the old electrolytic cannot form to a DC charge, causing additional DC load on the tube rectifier and power transformer to overheat.
If anyone lists a working vintage audio unit, then it should at least have all new electrolytic capacitors replaced, to assure proper operating, and sound.
Therefore, the reason item is being listed as parts or restoration.
This is a nice tuner project for a good electronics technician, that knows how to repair vintage audio equipment, or know someone that does.
Unless you plan to buy it, just to stick on the shelf for display.
Makes a nice easy winter time project for the electronics hobbyist.
The tuner was powered up only for a couple seconds, just to check that the front light came on, to make sure that the power transformer is OK.
    No further testing was done.
    Please inspect photos for condition.
Due to the nature of vintage, this unit is being sold as-is, for parts or restoration, and there's no warranty given for this item.
What you see is what you get.
    Cheers
