Pioneer TX-8500ii AM/FM Stereo Tuner - Tested/Serviced, Working.

Description

This listing is for a Pioneer TX-8500ii Stereo Tuner in excellent cosmetic and functional condition.
It has been tested/serviced and is in full working condition.
It features a variable and pre-set volume output option, as well as Local and Wide band option to help with FM signals.
This is a Multi-Voltage unit allowing voltage to be set for various countries.
It is currently set for USA and has a standard polarized plug installed. A copy of the Product Brochure and Operations Manual will be included.
The following outline describes the testing/cleaning done:

New Warm White LED wedge-lamps were installed to provide a brighter, cleaner look.
·
If requested upon purchase, we will swap out the Warm White LED’s for Cool Blue LED’s or original incandescent style lamps.
·
Wide, Narrow and Stereo lamps were working at time of testing (see photos).
·
The Power lamp was working at time of testing.
·
The tuner was tested using a simple wire antenna attached.
Radio stations on AM and FM were received as expected across the radio dial
.
·
All Switches and Potentiometers were flushed with contact cleaner, followed by treatment with the appropriate DeoxIt treatment.
·
The 35v 2200uf main capacitor was showing signs of early failure and was replaced with a quality Nichicon capacitor of same value.
·
The RCA output jacks for fixed output were loosening and were replaced.
Both Fixed and Variable output jacks are now fully functional.
·
The faceplate and all knobs were removed, cleaned and hand polished.
·
Cleaning on all exterior surfaces was done to improve appearance.
The top cover was painted with a matte black enamel finish
·
The power cord was inspected and cleaned.
·
Any missing top cabinet or bottom plate screws were replaced
·
All feet were inspected and replaced as needed.
·
A final extended use test was performed to ensure functionality
PLEASE NOTE: While the faceplate is in overall good condition, close review of the photos will show some signs of edge nicks/rough spots and light marks.
They are easily overlooked and are pointed out here in the spirit of full disclosure.
