Sansui Vintage Super Integrated AM/FM Stereo Tuner Model TU-X1, Very Rare!
Many have considered the TU-X1 the finest tuner Sansui has ever made. This was engineered without compromise; the TU-X1 is actually two tuners in one box - an FM tuner and an AM tuner. FM and AM sections have their own separate signal strength and tuning meters, tuning knobs and output level controls. As some will know, the AM waveband is not capable of high fidelity sound, but Sansui's engineers nevertheless took AM very seriously indeed when designing this tuner. The TU-X1 has, to many people's opinions, the largest integral AM antenna ever fitted to a tuner and the AM section manages an incredible 65dB claimed signal to noise ratio (45dB is more usual for AM) and a 40Hz to 7000 Hz frequency response.
Condition is "Used". There is some cosmetic wear, but overall in good condition. Please see photos as reference. The tuner works and I’ve test most of the functions (see video) so I’m selling this as-is. However, I am happy to provide additional videos of any function you like.The only issue I am aware of is the AM tuner dial will slip if you spin it too fast. It works if you turn it at a normal speed. I don't know how to go in and tighten it up, so I'm leaving that alone. You can see by my 23-years of good history with eBay that I am a straight shooter. I will have this unit professionally packaged using Fedex or UPS "fragile item" service so it will be properly protected on its way to you .
I ordered this from Japan when I first started collecting Sansui equipment, so it is a 100v model (check Google for more info!), and the FM tuner goes up to about 100MhZ by design (although you can modify this if you like). I am now collecting other brands as well, so I need to make some room.
