Sony FM Stereo ST-5000F Vintage audiophile Tuner READ DESCRIPTION

This listing is for a Vintage Sony ST-5000F tuner in very good condition. These were manufactured in around 1968 and sold for 0 new. That was A LOT back in 1968! The face looks great. As can be seen in the photos, it does have a lot of scratches mostly on the top. This could easily be sanded and painted, but I'll leave that up to the new owner. When trying it out, it does pick up stations and the stereo light comes on when it's supposed to. At least one light is out and possibly more. The tuner input meter is working, but the tuning meter isn't working, however It does move slightly.
I'm not a technician, so I have no way to know if it is working up to spec. I'd recommend having it checked out by a qualified technician
. This tuner is highly regarded and was intended to compete with the Excellent Marantz 10B tuner. According to info on the Net, the 5000f  tuner was the Sony's first widely distributed component that was built like a tank! It has a very strong following. This is considered an audiophile Tuner. There is plenty of info on this great tuner on the net.
