    Description

Complete with all tubes from vintage time with brass faceplate, fancy looking and heavy for a tuner.  It was the top of line Fisher FM mono tube tuner of its time in 1950's.
Note most tube FM tuners were mono with exception of a few later ones.  I used to collect tube tuners and listen to quite a few of them over time.  I love to listen to old American mono FM tuners for news and for jazz and for classical music as mono sounded more like the real thing without any artifacts, once plugging into a multiplex decoder then the stereo would sound more like unnatural digital trashes added to create ambience.
Back to this for sale unit, I bought this unit from the original owner's grandchildren.  By plugging it into variac starting with low AC voltage then higher voltage, it has very faint low signal, must be bad leaking caps from 40 years of storage.  I wanted to upgrade caps however, I have not done it for years since I bought it, thus this good looking Fm/ tuner is for the next new owner to polish it up and upgrade a few leaking caps.  Note most capacitors in the FM tuner are ceramic type that has no need to replace. Only a few black beauty type, plus electrolytic caps and oil caps needs to get replaced.
    For restoration only.  No returns.
